The Temple Series

Using acrylic paint, charcoal, and oil on paper and canvas, tension is created by the successive buildup of brushstrokes and a horizontal and vertical alternation of space and mood. Centrally positioned arcs and a free-flowing calligraphy soften the thrust of the composition.  The mystery and contemplative quality of my work results from a tense stasis of intellectual control over a subtle color environment.
