I have worked for many years with handmade paper that I have made, as well as with papers from around the world. I have taught papermaking, bookbinding, and artist's journals. I draw, paint on canvas, and print on paper. My recent monoprints are on silk and echoed on handmade Japanese paper. Brightly colored and joyful, these works use the interplay of layered geometric shapes, like the square, with drawn elements. There is rhythm, harmony, and tonal layers. The tension between the textures, colors, shapes, and lines provides a lively tempo. I feel I am in a world of visual music. |
